“India Night in Newcomb: A Conversation with Father Clement” of the Ogdensburg Diocese for Long Lake, Tupper Lake, and Newcomb

The conversation begins at 6:45 pm on June 12 at the scenic Lake Harris Lodge.  The talk is preceded at 5:30 pm by an Indian-inspired dinner; for those who wish to dine with the speaker and Newcomb neighbors call the Lodge five days in advance for reservations (518-582-8333).

Father Clement Rimonds was born in Vizhinjam, Trivandrum, State of Kerala, India. Ordained to the priesthood in 2007, he holds a BA in Education, and graduate degrees in English Literature and Social Work. Father Clement entered seminary after 10th grade and joined the “Heralds of Good News.”

Father Clement will speak in interview format about his life in India before addressing his journey to the priesthood and what it is like to be a Christian in predominantly Hindu India. He will then discuss India today both as a complex, diverse, and growing country at home and as a rising power abroad.
